Why this page exists
A transparent note on how CastMe is being built.
CastMe is designed and developed by Seán Meaney, with input from performers, production contacts, industry partners and people using the platform in real situations.
The aim is not to build another paid listing site. Performers already have platforms like Spotlight, Backstage and Fishpond for parts of that world. CastMe is creating new tools for the work around the opportunity: profile, preparation, Showcase, roles, feedback and private rehearsal.
The product started from a simple problem: when you need to practise, improve a take or pull your material together quickly, there has not been a clear performer-owned place built around that whole workflow. CastMe is building those tools directly, not just collecting links to services that already exist.
That matters especially in Ireland, where many performers, students and emerging creatives need affordable ways to practise, prepare and present themselves without losing control of their data or paying before they can even start.

Product principles
Performer control is part of the build.
With so much concern around creative data, AI and performer ownership, CastMe is being positioned data-safety first. The goal is clear: do not sell member data, do not use member work to train replacement performers, and keep profile, media and practice choices in the user's control.
AI as a support tool
AI features are for solo practice, feedback and preparation. They are not there to replace performers or train replacement performance systems from member work.
User-controlled publishing
Profiles, Showcases and media should remain deliberate. Private work stays private; the performer chooses what becomes public.

Built like a real product, not a static brochure.
Secure account flowsSignup, login, verification, reset, session handling and abuse checks are part of the platform.

A note for reviewers

CastMe has been built through practical iteration: finding where performers get stuck, fixing broken flows, improving page clarity, checking real signup and login paths, and adjusting the platform when real users behave differently from assumptions.
Modern tools help with speed, testing and exploration, but the human product judgement is what matters: what new performer tools should exist, what to leave out, what to protect, and how to keep the platform useful instead of noisy or extractive.
