These Terms and Conditions explain how performers may use CastMe.ie, including profiles, Showcase pages, Studio practice tools, Lab features, Scene Partner, opportunities and account services.
By creating an account, uploading content, using CastMe tools, applying for an opportunity or accepting work connected with CastMe.ie, you agree to these Terms.
Plain English summary: keep your information accurate, only upload work you have the right to use, treat other people and production information with respect, do not scrape or copy the platform, and remember that you control what you choose to publish in your Showcase.
1. Who CastMe is for
CastMe is an independent performer platform. It gives performers practical tools to organise their profile, practise privately, prepare for opportunities, create a public Showcase link and find useful industry routes.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, CastMe is not acting as your agent, manager, employer, producer or legal representative.
2. Eligibility and account information
- You must provide accurate and up-to-date information.
- You must be legally entitled to accept any work or opportunity you choose to pursue.
- You must be aged 16 or over to create a CastMe account. If you are under 18, you must have parent or legal guardian permission before creating an account, uploading media, using tools, applying for opportunities or accepting work.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must not create fake, misleading, duplicate or impersonation accounts.
3. Registration, charges and consumer information
- Performer account registration is available through the standard CastMe signup flow and requires email verification.
- Core performer accounts are currently free to create.
- Paid packages may apply only where a production, agency, casting contact, business or partner requests a paid service.
- Performer accounts remain available subject to these Terms and any lawful account suspension or removal.
- Any future account or business service charges will be shown clearly before a charge is requested.
- Any refund rights are handled in line with applicable Irish consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and, where relevant, S.I. No. 484/2013.
- Statutory rights cannot be excluded by these Terms.
4. Profile, Showcase and uploaded content
- You must only upload content you own or are permitted to use.
- Your profile, Showcase, media, credits, links and descriptions must be lawful, accurate and not misleading.
- You must not upload offensive, defamatory, infringing or unlawful content.
- You choose what to publish publicly in your Showcase. Private account material is not intended to be public unless you actively publish or share it.
- If you include third-party links, credits, production names or collaborator names, you are responsible for making sure they are accurate and fair.
- CastMe may remove or restrict content that appears unlawful, unsafe, misleading, infringing, abusive or inconsistent with these Terms.
5. Studio, Lab, Scene Partner and AI-assisted tools
- CastMe tools are designed to support practice, preparation, profile building and performer organisation.
- Tool feedback is guidance only. It is not a guarantee of work, representation, casting outcome, professional training outcome, legal advice, financial advice or medical advice.
- You remain responsible for what you choose to record, upload, publish, share or rely on.
- Do not upload confidential scripts, private production materials or third-party content unless you have permission to use it in that context.
6. Your work, image, likeness and AI protections
- CastMe does not use member photos, videos, performances, voice recordings, Showcase content, Studio materials or acting techniques to train foundation AI models or create replacement AI performers.
- AI-assisted CastMe tools are provided for private practice, feedback, profile support and platform guidance. Your image, likeness, media and creative work remain yours.
- We do not sell member profiles, uploaded media or performance data to advertisers, data brokers or AI training companies.
- When you delete media from CastMe, we remove it from the active platform and stop displaying it. Limited records may remain where required for legal, security, audit, backup or dispute-resolution purposes.
- You can request account deletion through dashboard data controls or by contacting [email protected]. Account deletion removes the member account, profile, active uploaded media and private account records associated with the account, subject to limited legal, security, audit, backup or dispute-resolution retention where required.
7. Opportunities, applications and bookings
- CastMe may list, surface or link to opportunities from productions, agencies, casting teams, public sources or partners.
- Unless clearly stated, a listing or directory mention does not mean CastMe endorses, represents or controls that third party.
- You are responsible for checking the source, role details, pay, usage, location, dates, eligibility and safety of any opportunity before applying or accepting.
- You are not required to accept every invitation or opportunity.
- If you accept a confirmed booking connected with CastMe, you should attend as agreed unless prevented by exceptional circumstances and notify the relevant contact as soon as possible if you cannot attend.
8. Conduct, safety and confidentiality
- You must treat other members, productions, agencies, partners and CastMe staff respectfully.
- You must follow lawful on-set instructions from production representatives.
- You must comply with confidentiality obligations for projects, scripts and production details.
- You must not photograph, record or publish confidential production material without written permission.
Health and safety duties primarily sit with the relevant production, employer or organiser under applicable law, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. If something feels unsafe, inappropriate or unclear, you should pause and raise it with the responsible production contact or appropriate authority.
9. Payments and deductions
- Payment terms, expenses, usage terms and buyout terms should be set out at or before booking confirmation.
- Where payroll is handled through CastMe or an appointed processor, required deductions (for example, PAYE/PRSI/USC where applicable) may be applied in line with Irish law.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your tax and payment details.
10. Usage rights and releases
- Specific usage terms (territory, media, duration and buyout terms) are set per booking/production agreement.
- You may be asked to sign release forms for particular productions.
- You retain rights that cannot be waived by law.
11. Platform integrity and abuse
- You must not use CastMe.ie to scrape, copy, harvest, bulk-download, reverse engineer, reproduce, resell or commercially reuse platform data, member profiles, tool outputs, Studio reports, Showcase layouts, matching logic, prompts, workflows or other non-public platform features.
- You must not use bots, scripts, automated browsers, shared credentials, fake accounts or other automated methods to access, test, copy or overload CastMe.ie without prior written permission.
- CastMe.ie may monitor usage patterns, IP addresses, device information, rate limits and security logs to protect members, prevent scraping, investigate abuse and keep the platform reliable.
- We may suspend, restrict or remove accounts for material breaches of these Terms, unlawful conduct, misuse of tools, attempted copying of platform systems, abuse of the platform, or persistent unreliability.
12. Data protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law, including GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where this would be unlawful under Irish law, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death/personal injury caused by negligence.
Subject to that, CastMe is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform.
14. Changes to Terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms take effect when published on this page.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. The Irish courts will have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights.
