'ROT' is a partial screenlife lo-fi horror in which reality, belief and delusion begin to blur after a young woman discovers a doomsday prophecy while scrolling online. The film explores obsession and the loosening of reality and is inspired by films including 'We're All Going to the World's Fair', 'Red Rooms' and 'Inland Empire'. The project contains heavy themes of mental illness, isolation and obsession, alongside brief or implied depictions of body horror, religion and sexuality. The production particularly encourages actors from marginalised groups and those with experience of isolation or poor mental health to get involved. Filming will take place in Edinburgh over 4 days in November 2026. Food and transport expenses covered.
