'Blythe' is a sweet comedy short with a style described as 'Miranda' meets 'Fleabag', with much of the story delivered directly to camera. Blythe's day off begins perfectly: sleeping until midday, refusing to get dressed and planning to eat an entire tub of ice cream while watching true-crime documentaries. That changes when her boss, Jeremy, calls about a mysterious client. Blythe is a journalist for the local newspaper, normally covering pet weddings, birthdays and even a baby shower for a cat named Duchess. This time, however, a local author on tour has specifically requested that Blythe come and get a scoop. She begins wondering whether this could finally be the big break that lifts her out of her seemingly endless financial struggles - but her day soon goes from bad to worse. The production is currently being packaged and funding applications are being made. If funding is unsuccessful, costs will be covered. The script requires partial nudity and the production is seeking an intimacy coordinator as part of the crew.
